An extremely useful feature, which sometimes gets overlooked when deployed new directories! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>So what is the &#8216;Active Directory Recycle Bin&#8217;<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a quick background and a snippet taken from a TechNet blog [<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Link Here (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.technet.microsoft.com\/askds\/2009\/08\/27\/the-ad-recycle-bin-understanding-implementing-best-practices-and-troubleshooting\/\" target=\"_blank\">Link Here<\/a>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Starting in Windows Server 2008 R2, Active Directory now implements a true recycle bin. No longer will you need an\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;840001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">authoritative restore<\/a>\u00a0to recover deleted users, groups, OU\u2019s, or other objects. Instead, it is now possible to use PowerShell commands to bring back objects with all their attributes, backlinks, group memberships, and metadata. AD Recycle Bin (ADRB) was a long time coming and it definitely has its idiosyncrasies, but I think you are going to love it. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Enabling Active Directory Recycle Bin<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>From Windows Server Desktop, Go to <strong>Start<\/strong> and launch the <strong>Active Directory Administrator Center<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"540\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-55-1024x540.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1789\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-55-1024x540.png 1024w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-55-300x158.png 300w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-55-768x405.png 768w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-55.png 1423w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On the left hand under <strong>Overview<\/strong> will be your domain, (example: ad (local))<br>Right-click on the domain and from the context menu select &#8216;<strong>Enable Recycle Bin<\/strong>&#8216;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"760\" height=\"295\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-56.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1790\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-56.png 760w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-56-300x116.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 760px) 100vw, 760px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Click &#8216;Ok&#8217; to on the on-screen prompt. <br><strong>NOTE: Once this has been enabled &#8211; it cannot be disabled!
