Hybrid Machine to Intune Enrollment"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 4<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span>\n<p>In this blog post, we will cover the steps of a converting a Hybrid Joined Windows Device to an AutoPilot\/Intune Enrolled machine. &#8211; Firstly this blog post assumes that you already have <a href=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/2019\/07\/deploying-azuread-sync-tool\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AzureAD Sync Setup<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/2020\/11\/autopilot-configuring-azuread-hybrid-deployment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AzureAD Hybrid Device Sync<\/a> configured.<br>For this example, in this lab, we have a computer &#8220;HYPERVLAB-PC01&#8221; which is a Windows 10 Enterprise Device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1226\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-38.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-38.png 1226w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-38-300x167.png 300w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-38-1024x571.png 1024w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-38-768x428.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1226px) 100vw, 1226px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> If you are struggling to find the device in AzureAD, You might need to force sync from your AzureAD Sync Server. &#8211; One thing that I found while creating this post is that the AD Sync wasn&#8217;t as fast as I&#8217;d liked and took around 15 minutes to catch up and sync the computer into AzureAD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hybrid Sync Error &#8211; Reference Note<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To Check if your device has synced status with AzureAD you can run the command: dsregcmd \/status<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>+----------------------------------------------------------------------+\n| Diagnostic Data                                                      |\n+----------------------------------------------------------------------+\n\n     Diagnostics Reference : www.microsoft.com\/aadjerrors\n              User Context : UN-ELEVATED User\n               Client Time : 2020-12-02 22:25:54.000 UTC\n      AD Connectivity Test : PASS\n     AD Configuration Test : PASS\n        DRS Discovery Test : PASS\n     DRS Connectivity Test : PASS\n    Token acquisition Test : SKIPPED\n     Fallback to Sync-Join : ENABLED\n\n     Previous Registration : 2020-12-02 22:24:29.000 UTC\n         Registration Type : sync\n               Error Phase : join\n          Client ErrorCode : 0x801c03f2\n          Server ErrorCode : DirectoryError\n            Server Message : The device object by the given id (3c849a08-096e-467c-8eab-b8a3b8f200c0) is not found.\n              Https Status : 400\n                Request Id : 49a1e99c-4690-4df9-bffb-630f3698dfa9\n<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Should you get this error message, it means that the device has not synced up to the Azure Tennant, You will need to run a force sync from AzureAD Synchronization Service Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"955\" height=\"646\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-48.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-48.png 955w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-48-300x203.png 300w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-48-768x520.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 955px) 100vw, 955px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>From the reference computer in question, Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command:<br><em>dsregcmd \/join<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"987\" height=\"530\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-50.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2514\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-50.png 987w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-50-300x160.png 300w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-50-768x412.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 987px) 100vw, 987px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Followed by <em>dsregcmd \/status<\/em>. Enable Automatic MDM Enrollment.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From the Group Policy Management Window, Lets create a new Policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"396\" height=\"194\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-40.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2504\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-40.png 396w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-40-300x147.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 396px) 100vw, 396px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, lets link the new group policy object to the OU in question &#8220;Computers&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"499\" height=\"175\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-41.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2505\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-41.png 499w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-41-300x105.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 499px) 100vw, 499px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the policy we just created &#8220;[C] MS Intune &#8211; Auto MDM Enrollment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"462\" height=\"425\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-43.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2507\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-43.png 462w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-43-300x276.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 462px) 100vw, 462px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Right-click on the policy and open then Group Policy Management Editor, The Location we are wanting is:<br>Computer &gt; Polices &gt; Administrative Templates &gt; Windows Components &gt; MDM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"980\" height=\"581\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-45.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2509\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-45.png 980w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-45-300x178.png 300w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-45-768x455.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Open the &#8220;Enable automatic MDM enrollment using default Azure AD credentials&#8221; from the dropdown select &#8220;User Credentials&#8221; &#8211; Trust me on this one, I tried Device Credential and spent two hours debugging and reading event logs!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"694\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-46.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2510\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-46.png 694w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-46-300x281.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 694px) 100vw, 694px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the policy has been configured, we can reboot the reference computer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can check the status on the MDM Enrollment from the Windows Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Applications and Services Logs &gt; Microsoft &gt; Windows &gt; DeviceManagement-Enterprise-Diagnostic-Provider &gt; Admin.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the Event Viewer logs, If you see an event ID value of &#8220;75&#8221;. This means that the device is passed the MDM Steps and in now enrollment into Microsoft Intune. If you don&#8217;t some further diagnostics is required. [<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/client-management\/mdm\/enroll-a-windows-10-device-automatically-using-group-policy#troubleshoot-auto-enrollment-of-devices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Troubleshooting Steps<\/a>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"920\" height=\"633\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-54.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2519\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-54.png 920w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-54-300x206.png 300w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-54-768x528.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 920px) 100vw, 920px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Checking in the AzureAD Devices Portal you will see the device change from a Compliant State to None Compliant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-55.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2520\" width=\"888\" height=\"87\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-55.png 1423w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-55-300x30.png 300w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-55-1024x101.png 1024w, https:\/\/hypervlab.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-55-768x76.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 888px) 100vw, 888px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>However, checking on the local machine under: C:\\Program Files (x86).
